Job Description

Our Automated Driving team is developing core algorithms in support of TRI’s automated driving activities. We are looking for a passionate individual who is experienced in product management as well as customer relationship management. The ideal candidate is someone who has a strong desire to both develop and deploy automated vehicle technology to improve the lives of millions. The Manager of Automated Driving Products will work alongside other technical leaders and team members to achieve and realize TRI’s goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Olympics Demonstration: Dev.Management and Operation as a Product
  • You will Develop product requirement documents (PRDs) to clarify landmarks and goals, clearly articulating product definition (agreed upon with the customer) within business constraints and goals
  • You will co-develop technical features and functions with Program Managers (PM) and System Engineering (SE) teams, based on scenarios and roadmaps
  • You will lead drive successfully delivery of systems and product to TMC/TRI-AD 
  • You will define product scenarios (PRDs) for the Olympics 2020, taking these defined PRD products to market 
  • Collaborates with SE to help develop system requirement documents (SRDs)
  • This role will have responsibility for delivering products to our customer via documents, tools and visual media 
  • You will perform market study and competitive analysis to (1) conduct customer needs research, competitive analysis, market studies, accident research, and technology and (2) identifies product’s value proposition and market differentiation
  • You will own and handle our internal customer relationships: TMC-Japan (Toyota Motor Corp) and TC (Toyota Connected in JP/US), TMNA (Toyota Motor North America), TRI-AD (Toyota Research Institute - Advanced Development), and related Toyota Groups, as well as internal driving teams and cross-functional activities
  • Communicates with outside firms, learning and collaborating to level-up products
  • You will drive execution and public relations activities
  • Develops internal functional structure to develop and pursue product development effectively
  • You will support and engage in programs, projects, and practices behind TRI’s culture and strategy, following all policies and procedures
  • You will follows industry and department trends and developments to ensure TRI services are consistent with industry standard methodologies
  • Willing to travel to International customer and subcontractor locations as needed to support product objectives

Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership background, effective communications skills, and proficiency in agile development practices
  • Experience in defining and leading complex product roadmaps and ensuring timely and cost effective completion
  • Strong background of building bridges with all other parts of the business, while leading successfully both upwards and downwards
  • Strong general understanding of the automotive industry, with basic technical understanding of product definition which contains the embedded software, computer hardware, and controlling systems
  • Leadership skills in people management, program execution, team-building, and positive customer relationship management
  • Experience of the operation in a technically driven, product oriented environment
  • Master's degree or higher in Computer Science/Engineering or experience working at a technology company
  • +5 years working as a Program/Product Manager
