Electric carmaker Li Auto has appointed Mr. Kai Wang as its chief technology officer, with responsibility for leading the company’s advanced technology research and development in intelligent vehicles, intelligent cockpit, autonomous driving, platform development and Li OS, the company’s real-time operating system.
Wang joins Li Auto from Visteon Corporation, where he was most recently global chief architect and director of advanced driver assistance systems. At Visteon, he was a key contributor to SmartCore, the world’s first production cockpit domain controller, and DriveCore, an open and extensible autonomous driving platform. Since 2019, Wang has also been an adjunct professor in the Automotive Institute of Tongji University of China.
He has 18 years of experience in the R&D and management of core technologies in the automotive and mobile phone industries, and is an expert in fields including automotive electronic and electrical architecture, intelligent and connected automotive technologies, and autonomous driving.
