Autonomous vehicle software firm recruits former GM exec

Renovo, the autonomous vehicle software company, has appointed former General Motors executive Tony Posawatz to its board of directors.

Announcing the appointment, Renovo’s CEO Chris Heiser said that Posawatz’s “unrivalled experience and reputation in leading the automotive industry through the adoption of breakthrough technologies” would make him a perfect fit for the company.

Posawatz is currently President/CEO of Invictus iCAR (innovation Consulting Advisory Services), with a focus on automotive technology company advancement. He was formally the executive in charge of Global Electric Vehicle Development and Vehicle Line Director, Chevrolet Volt at General Motors.

Posawatz is widely credited for the success of the Volt, the only vehicle produced in the US ever to receive both the North American and European 'Car of the Year' awards in the same year.

“Renovo is positioned at the centre of the most exciting innovations in transportation and I’m excited to help the team grow this exciting business.”

The company’s AWare software platform for autonomous vehicles is already being used to power highly automated vehicle fleets, including that of Voyage.auto.
